Glen Canyon National Recreation Area

The National Recreation Area offers many amenities for visitors to experience Lake Powell and the surrounding cliffs. During the winter months many of the services are reduced. Visitor Centers
Glen Canyon Dam - Carl Hayden Visitor Center

Navajo Bridge Interpretive Center

Visitor center features a bookstore, outdoor exhibits, and self guided walks across Navajo Bridge. Also a popular location to spot California Condors.

Hiking Trails
Below are hiking trail descriptions and maps available in the Glen Canyon Recreation Area. With 1.2 million acres there's alot of terrain that can be explored! If your boating on Lake Powell you are allowed to hike up slot canyons, washes and slick rock. Glen Canyon area map (2.7MB) pdf.

Escalante Canyons Section: This district provides great backcountry hiking and camping. All of the canyons in the Esclante watershed feature excellent hiking. You can go to the National Parks Services Escalante Canyons pdf (240k) for detailed trail descriptions.

Orange Cliffs Section: Is one of the most scenic and rugged sections of the recreation area. No pets are allowed in this area. The Orange Cliffs section shares its boundary with the Maze section of Canyonlands National Park and have a combined map (299k) pdf.

Campgrounds
Bullfrong Marina Campground & RV Park
Campground: Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis, no reservations available. There are 78 sites, charcoal grills, tables, restrooms, showers and water. Pets are allowed on a leash.
Fees: $18 (Rates can change without notice)

RV Park: 20 pull-through spaces; 4 back-in spaces. All sites are full hook-ups that can accommodate up to 50 feet. Pets are allowed on leash. For reservations call 1-800-528-6154.

Dirty Devil, Farley, Hite, Stanton Creek Primitive Camping Areas
Primitive camping is allowed on the beach or in primitive environments. No designated campsites. No reservations.

Halls Crossing Marina Campground
Campground: Open year-round on a first-come, first served basis, no reservations available. There are 63 sites, 2 group sites, charcoal grills, tables, restrooms, showers, and water. Pets are allowed on a leash.

RV Park: 32 pull-through spaces and can accommodate rv's up to 60 feet in length. All sites have full hook-ups. Pets are allowed on leash. For reservations call 1-800-528-6154.

Lake Powell Shoreline Primitive Camping
There is no camping fee or permit required to camp on the lake in undeveloped areas. Pets are allowed on beaches. All waste must be disposed of properly, no burying of waste is allowed.
Lees Ferry Campground
Open year-round on a first-come, first served basis, no reservations available. 55 sites, no hook-ups, grills provided, restrooms, potable water available.
Fees: $12 per night
Lone Rock Beach Primitive Camping
Primitive camping is allowed on beach or in dunes, no designated campsites, no reservations. toilets available, outdoor cold shower, off road vehicle area, dump station, potable water available seasonally.
Fees: $10 per night
Wahweap Marina Campground
Campground: Open year-round on a first-come, first served basis, no reservations available. 112 campsites, 6 group sites, restrooms, laundry, showers, store and potable water. Pets are allowed on a leash. For group site reservations call 1-928-645-1059.
Fees: $18 per night (Rates can change without notice)

RV Park: 139 sites with full hook-ups, some sites can accommodate rv's up to 70 feet in length. Pets are allowed on a leash. For reservations call 1-800-528-6154.

Pets are not allowed in the following areas:
Archeological sites, marinas, Orange Cliffs, Rainbow Bridge, Colorado River downstream from the dam and Coyote Gulch.

Entrance Fees
1 - 7 Day Vehicle Pass: $15
Admits one single, private, non-commercial vehicle and all its passengers.

1 - 7 Day Individual Permit: $7 per person
Admits one individual when entering on foot, or bicycle. Persons 15 years of age and younger are admitted free.

Commercial Tour Fees
• Sedan 1 - 6 people: $25 plus $7 per person
• Van/Bus 7 - 25 people: $40
• Motor Coach 26+ people: $100

Boating Fees
• $30 - annual vessel permit valid from January 1 - December 31 for each motorized vessel
• $16 - valid 1 to 7 days for first motorized vessel
• $8 - valid 1 to 7 days for each additional motorized vessel

Expanded Amenity Recreation Fees
• $6 per person 6 years of age and over
• $3 per person for Senior and Access passholders

Ferry Service & Fees
Fees and times can change and the ferry can be out of service from time to time for repairs.
