The National Recreation Area offers many amenities for visitors to experience Lake Powell and the surrounding cliffs. During the winter months many of the services are reduced. Vistor center offers free tours of the dam, exhibits, restrooms and bookstore. Navajo Bridge Interpretive Center

Below are hiking trail descriptions and maps available in the Glen Canyon Recreation Area. With 1.2 million acres there's alot of terrain that can be explored! If your boating on Lake Powell you are allowed to hike up slot canyons, washes and slick rock. Glen Canyon area map (2.7MB) pdf.
Escalante Canyons Section: This district provides great backcountry hiking and camping. All of the canyons in the Esclante watershed feature excellent hiking. You can go to the National Parks Services Escalante Canyons pdf (240k) for detailed trail descriptions. North Page Trail Descriptions (61k) pdf Page/Wahweap Trail Descriptions, (42k) pdf Orange Cliffs Section: Is one of the most scenic and rugged sections of the recreation area. Campground: Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis, no reservations available. There are 78 sites, charcoal grills, tables, restrooms, showers and water. Pets are allowed on a leash.
Fees: $18 (Rates can change without notice) RV Park: 20 pull-through spaces; 4 back-in spaces. All sites are full hook-ups that can accommodate up to 50 feet. Pets are allowed on leash. For reservations call 1-800-528-6154. |

Fees: $18 per night (Rates can change without notice) RV Park: 32 pull-through spaces and can accommodate rv's up to 60 feet in length. All sites have full hook-ups. Pets are allowed on leash. For reservations call 1-800-528-6154. |

Lake Powell Shoreline Primitive Camping

There is no camping fee or permit required to camp on the lake in undeveloped areas. Pets are allowed on beaches. All waste must be disposed of properly, no burying of waste is allowed.
